Hybrid / EAS implant is combination of acoustic hearing(via hearing aid) for low frequency and electric hearing (via cochlear implant) for mid-high frequency treated for partial deafness patients in the same ear. It enables to hear more naturally in all frequencies compared with conventional CI. Since the first hybrid implant in Korea in 2010, our clinic has been recognized as one of the best EAS centers in the world
Atresia Repair surgery(ARS) is to create a normal sized ear canal from either a stenotic canal or complete aural atresia. The Soree Ear Clinic(SEC) has performed more than 100 successful atresia repair surgeries per year, the number of which is recognized as the highest number in the world. The candidates of ARS are children and adults with unilateral as well as bilateral atresia, and the goals are creating functional ear canals and restoring hearing to within normal limits. SEC performs this surgery to children as young as 3 years of age. This greatly help the children's language development since 3-5 years of age is crucial for such development. SEC's atresia repair surgery is compatible with all forms of outer ear reconstruction - Medpor, Rib Graft, and Prosthetics!
